My very own "Metal" T-shirt

My love for heavy metal music had influenced me on my design work and also the way I'm dressed. Attitude wise: I'm mysterious, never-say-die and is willing to work hard for what I believe in.

So, I've always wanted to have my very own "Metal" T-shirt with attitude. From the design below, you will understand how I feel towards life and my ultimate goal..... I have "fire" in my eyes to achieve it!!!! And I don't take NO for an answer!!!

"Microwave-ready pack" Satay

I've been working with Jumain Sataysfactions numerous times designing their packaging & corporate logo. It's been a wonderful partnership and I am always given lots of opportunity and space to explore my design limit.

"Asli" is a brand name for Jumain Sataysfaction. While working on the logo, I took due consideration to its core nature. Asli means natural/original in Malay, so it got to be original and at the same time have that natural feel to it. This brand is very versatile.

Recently, Jumain Sataysfactions is marketing its microwavable satay which took mere minutes to prepare and it's ready to eat. One thing for sure... it's tender and sweet for a microwave satay. Nice! I am given the opportunity to design the packaging. My main aim is to make it identifiable by just one look. I sincerely hope it works.

Akademi Cili Padi

I'm comissioned to design a corporate logo for a children talent school recently. As per the name of the academy, I've to come up with an illustration of a cartoon character of a cheerful chili. After scouring for various sources, I have a good idea how it will turn out.

From a rough sketch to the computer... this is what I've done. This is not final. I know that there'll be lots of changes here and there, but I guess this first draft is good.

Some of my work for May - July 2008

Below are some of my work for the month of May - July 2008.
I just feature some of those works which
I find interesting, challenging and sometime amusing.

Please click on the image to enlarge.

*************************************************************

This two cover design I did for Life Record (S). It's now in the market.
It was a bit tricky because the requirement is to turn all the pictures
to look like a comic drawing. All the design is done using photoshop.

*************************************************************

Design for this job is done within a day.
The requirement is poster and brochure for Istiqamah Mosque Library.
I wasn't given photos to begin with, so I've to dig for appropriate pix
from my resource file. The end result was quite satisfying given the short time frame.

*************************************************************

Whenever I am given the task to design a corporate Identity (Logo),
I'll always be overly excited because I'll have a part in the company's
branding and image. Currently, I've done 2 corporate ID.

Initially, my client wants me to focus on having horse/pegasus/unicorn as
the main icon for the corporate ID. Somehow along the way, he decided to have
this centurion/Trojan helmet. I did some research of the helmet and
did a vector drawing so that I can do adjustment to the linework
anytime I want. I added the flowing cape to make it more stylish.

For the corporate ID below, its a bit straight forward but require
an international feel to it. I want to make it a bit artistic but at the
same time have to steer clear of having a logo that have too much cliche.
I stylised the initial J M A to create the icon and
have the logotext in a serious tone.
This is the end result.

*************************************************************

Doing poster is one of my favourite part of designing.
Besides posters, I do banners and stickers as well.
This one I did recently for ArRaudhah Mosque.
Time taken for the design - 4 hrs.

This is a banner design for an upcoming Ramadan Bazaar.

This is a sticker for a Zakat Information booth.

I still have a lot more design job in hand. Most of it
is awaiting for approval and confirmation. I must say, I truly
enjoy doing design work. Not only that, I learn about
people's behavior and attitude towards their business
and work.

Corporate Identity (Logo)

Business Logo Design
A business logo design should be highly instrumental in building your business identity and should successfully exude the company’s attitude. The viewers must have some idea about the disposition, character, or fundamental values of your company through your logo.

Following certain basic principles can ensure that your business logo design is professional, easy to remember and creates a great impact on its viewers while successfully expressing the nature of your business.

Go for Professional Logo Designers
You might save a few dollars doing your own logo or getting it done from the next door neighbor who knows the basics of designing, but if you are serious about your business, you should always go for a professional logo design firm. Your business logo is your identity. Your customers recognize you by your logo, so the more professional and sophisticated your logo is, the better will be your customer’s impression about your company.

Although many of the current logo design companies charge exorbitant rates to create a business logo design, the industry is changing. These days, there are companies that offer excellent professional logos for nominal charges.

Simplicity – Keep it Simple
An ideal business logo design should be simple and memorable. Corporate firms spend thousands of dollars to ensure that customers remember them and a simple logo is the key to that. Think about the Nike logo, it’s simple and memorable. Once you see the Swoosh, do you ever need to think twice about the company name?

Colors
The colors you use for your business logo are very important factors in your brand establishment. If you already have your business colors, ask your logo designer to use those colors for the logo. If you don’t, suggest the colors that you think might give your prospective clients some idea about the type of business you do. For example, a company working in the field of forest conservation might like their logo to be in green. At the same time, you also need to consider which colors will go well with your business stationeries as well.

Black and White Version
While emphasizing the colors, we must also remember that it is important for a business logo to come out well in black and white. A business logo design is used in all business communications including fax and photocopied document where they will be in black and white. The logo design must be such that it holds the same impact even in black and white.

Minimize Colors
This is important from an economic and usability point of view. Business logos are often required to be printed for stationary and business literature. Using a one or two color logo can save a lot compared to printing a multi-color logo.

Logo Format
It is advisable to always use a vector format for your business logo design. A business logo may be required to be reproduced at any size for different purposes in the future. A logo design done in vector format can be expanded to any size without any loss of image quality. A business logo in raster format will loose image quality, if scaled up. Also it is easier to convert a vector logo design into bitmap than vice versa.

If you get a professional logo design firm to do your business logo and brief them about these basic tips (most of the knowledgeable firms are well aware of these principles) you are sure to get a satisfactory business logo design that will go a long way in helping you establish your brand.

Use Your Logo
Once your business logo is ready, start giving it as much exposure as is possible. Not only on your business card and letterheads, but also on your packaging, uniforms, pens and all other possible goods. This gives wider exposure to your logo and allows everyone to get familiar with the business logo much faster.
